WEEK 16

Assalamualaikum,
Date:14 JUNE 2017 (Wednesday)
Presentation of Final Year Project

The Final Year Presentation  (FYP 2) took place in the Dewan Gemilang, Unikl British Malaysian Institute (BMI) on 14th of JUNE 2017. The presentation started at 8:30 in the morning. I was assigned to two assessors from the FYP committee and Industry Panel whom are lecturers from the Medical Electronics Section. The assessors are Madam Sabrina.

The first assessor is Industry Panel. He listened through the presentation until the question and answer (Q&A) session which he asked a few questions. Toward to the end of presentation, he suggested that  that I should clearly stated my project programme/coding as it the hardest part in order to completing this project.

The second presentation with Madam Sabrina also went well. She does not suggested anything which in my opinion, she implied my presentation went with full satisfaction. Everything went well for the presentation. After the presentation is time to prepare the report.

WEEK 14

Assalamualaikum,

After a long period of time passed by, I finally managed to complete my final year project (FYP) by this week. With the guidance of my lecturer, this resulting in complete configuration of software and hardware that has been customized-matched with a program that was designed before. A little touch-up is applied to the design of my project for it to look more attractive and neat. With this in some way helps the understanding of other people on my project.

WEEK 13

Assalamualaikum.

The Objective for this weeks is to finalize the functional between software and hardware. The software project has been completed. The software are being testing to make sure it is well functioned. I have overcome all the problem from the software but the hardware still in progress.

In this week, i must design the quality and friendly user for my steering project. I tried to build hardware part of this project which is the sensor for the steering wheel. It took a while for me to complete the whole design. I would like to build a casing which is by using a square plastics box that can buy at Jalan Pasar. I choose these casing because it is durable and matching with my steering colour. This casing has been chosen because it makes my work looks more clean, compact and professional.

WEEK 12

Assalamualaikum.

During this week, the codings and hardware is simulated  using the Arduino Programme. The objective for this activity is to planning on the creating the arduino programme and coding. Besides that, testing for ECU Module using IR Encoder by motor speed and rotation.

Others activity is troubleshooting the circuit and recreating the programmed/coding for arduino. By troubleshooting, the application for dc motor work according to plan. Both of arduino circuit can  be function with the command.

WEEK 11

Assalamualaikum.

In this week, i'm continuing working on testing and analyse the circuit to understand more about my project . In the testing process, the circuit being construct and connected with the arduino application. It seems that all of the function created in my Arduino Application are working just well and meet the objectives of the project. In the analysis process, i study more about the objective and outcomes of the project to be able to presented it with clear information regarding my project to the upcoming accessor for the FYP 2 Presentation day in week 15.

WEEK 8

Assalamualaikum.

In this week, the project progress undergoes as usual. I was attending the workshop that was handled by FYP committee. The workshop detail is as follows:

TITLE : THESIS WRITING WORKSHOP

VENUE : SEMINAR ROOM, LEVEL 2

TIME : 4.30-6PM

SPEAKER : FYP COMMITTEE

During this workshop, the final report submission flow has been brief. All the important dates for Final Year Project 2 Students has been told by Madam Nulida, such as presentation date, draft report submission date and also final report due date.

After that, Mdm Siti Marwangi told us the flow, format and contribution marks to write the report. Alhamdulillah at 6 pm, the workshop has ended. The presentation date is on Wednesday in Week 15.

WEEK 7

Assalamualaikum,

For this week, The Construction of project steering wheel design. For the construction, i need go to welding shop to finish my design construction of steering wheel. For the steering, the galvanic skin resistance will attached to round off wheel steering. So, the stress of the driver can detect by the sensor galvanic skin resistance.

WEEK 6

Assalamualaikum,

This post is to review and study about  L298N Dual H-Bridge Motor Controller Module. The usage of H-Bridge's are typically used in controlling motors speed and direction, but can be used for other projects such as driving the brightness of certain lighting projects such as high powered LED arrays. For my project, the L298N function to control the output from micro-controller and display on motor speed.

How L298N works :

L298N
An H-Bridge is a circuit that can drive a current in either polarity and be controlled by *Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).

* Pulse Width Modulation is a means in controlling the duration of an electronic pulse. In motors try to imagine the brush as a water wheel and electrons as a the flowing droplets of water. The voltage would be the water flowing over the wheel at a constant rate, the more water flowing the higher the voltage. Motors are rated at certain voltages and can be damaged if the voltage is applied to heavily or if it is dropped quickly to slow the motor down. Thus PWM. Take the water wheel analogy and think of the water hitting it in pulses but at a constant flow. The longer the pulses the faster the wheel will turn, the shorter the pulses, the slower the water wheel will turn. Motors will last much longer and be more reliable if controlled through PWM.

WEEK 5

Assalamualaikum,

Today I’m going to show my progress that I’ve to go the halfcut to buy the car component for my project. The component is like the ECU and the car steering wheel for my project. The process is more difficult because the ECU is different for each car. So, i have to find really compatible for my project.
The Electronic Car Unit

Circuit Diagram Electronic Car Unit

After getting the ecu, I need to conduct experiments on my project. This is to determine whether the ecu works well. Besides that, I was going to ask a few workshops on this ecu more. So, the function of the ECU is to control the speed of car after detect the driver is in stress level

WEEK 4

In this week, I had been testing the Arduino and Sensor to design the circuit in breadboard

Besides that, i try to build some circuit to display the output on LCD 16x2. The program will teach in arduino website. After the build this circuit i will combine with the galvanic skin resistance to make the complete GSR circuit.

WEEK 3

 Assalamualaikum.

Today I’m going to show my progress that I’ve made which is in Arduino Software. I have build a circuit about my final year project by refereeing internet galvanic skin resistance circuit . The circuit design of my project is shown below in Figure 1.

Besides that, i was learn about the arduino coding for my project. And the coding teach how to measure when the resistance became low. The coding for my circuit design is shown in Figure 2.

WEEK 2

Assalamualaikum.

In this week, I’ve make a research about the Arduino application to make galvanic skin resistance circuit for my project.

The Arduino microcontroller is an easy to use yet powerful single board computer. It is open-source in which means the price is reasonable along with free development software. The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It operates at 5V as well as 2Kb or RAM. There are also 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. Everything needed to support the microcontroller is in the Arduino UNO by connecting it to a USB cable of a personal computer or with an AC-to-DC adapter and also battery to get started.

WEEK 1

Assalamualaikum and good evening,

A quick recap of my project: my project is 'e-Health of Emergency Smart Car Steering Wheel', I need to use Arduino Software, Electronic Car unit and LCD. The data will be displayed in the LCD.

The data is from our galvanic skin resistance. For the input part, a aluminium foil is use to reading process and the LCD will display the resistances value that is happen. Then, the data will be transmitted into the Electronic Car Unit. For the output part, the data received will be in hospital or police station (using GPRS).

In this semester I am going to proceed my final year project by making the coding, hardware and report. For the first week, I have been reviewing the Arduino software and review some successful project using the Arduino Software. And i believe my project also can running well.

In Shaa Allah.
